“ An amazing assortment of foods to order! An entire wall of beverages to select from! Excellent prices! I went there for breakfast, and then again for lunch! The coffee and pan de agua was on point! The pastels and fruit juices were amazing! The Portuguese meat bread looked to die for! Can't wait to go back and try more! ”
“ Most authenticate Brazilian food you can find. Love all the pastries and the ability to either order from the seating or to get for take out. Also love the price. ”
“ Stopped in here on a short visit through Newark. The owner (Katia) of this Brazilian-themed cafe was accommodating from the outset, even coming to our table to share what their menu consisted of and what we should try. You first notice that the place is well-occupied and that English is not the first language for many there. Smiles and warmth make up for any lack of understanding. Despite this barrier, the muffins and bakery items were definitely unique. We ended up with a slab of orange pound cake bread. Boy, was it marvelous. This is a must stop place for you in Newark. ”
“ Great Brazilian bakery, extremely accurate to Brazilian food. Many delicious dessert options. My favorite is their house special Pastel. The service is quick. ”
“ The food here is pretty great, I ordered for a week straight once because I was hooked on their cheese burger and cheese pastry. One thing I don't like is how long they can take with delivering your food. Whether you're sitting at the restaurant waiting or at home waiting for delivery. ”
“ Best!!! Bakery!!! Ever! Amazing Brazilian pastries! Best acai bowl, and vitamin juices. The service is usually good! But the food is amazin! Deff a must try for anyone who loves food! This place is a gem! ”
“ Purchased a delicious cake, bolo de maracujá. Everyone loved it! the pastries and bread from betel bakery a delicious. Highly recommend. ”
“ I love this place been coming here for years. I have tried numerous item menus and they were fantastic. The pao de quiejos (brazilian cheese bread) maracuya-passion fruit mousse, salgados -fried treats like bolinhos de mandioca (deep fried manioc and meat croquettes) and coxinhas de frango e catupiry (croquettes of chicken and cheese) the sandwich like the #10 with everything (hamburger meats chivito sandwich) , the Portuguese are great (steak, lettuce tomato onion on their homemade Portuguese bread) fantastic coffee and tropical shakes. I recomend the acais copo , capuacu juice and maracuya juices. The prices are very reasonable I thought. I do take 1 star off because the service can be a bit spotty. The servers do not use paper pencil to write down orders and you have to sometimes remind them. ”
“ Pros:Came in for Breakfast/Brunch greeted immediately by one of the hostess-waitress which was awesome very pleasant took the order after a min or two . Food is good took about 3min for two fried pantries to come fresh and hott one filled with cheese other with ground beef plus large latte priced about $7-8total w/out tip* . Note you can pay at register or wait on hostess some places add the gratuity automatic on receipt similar to credit card one with out an outline of what you got this bakery does not which was a very nice thing to see when I asked for the receipt I was able to see the itemized order. Cons: it's a heavy Brazilian-Portuguese speaking bakery very few people speak English and if they do it's broken yet good enough to understand them plus menu has small descriptions under foods to let you know what's inside etc.. Then again this is the Ironbound and that's what makes this district beautiful.... Sometimes it gets very busy things can take a bit longer and hostesses can get overwhelmed which is understandable so if your impatient very picky just be aware -thanks ”
